Star Trek Commander editions: the same deck has different card and token finishes

Wizards’ October 20 Commander page separates standard and Collector’s Edition treatments. The Collector’s deck is surge foil, but each double-sided token is surge foil on one side and nonfoil on the other; the full individual decklists are still unrevealed.

Based on the October 20 official Commander page and existing regional-delay context. No personal opening, physical inspection, order or availability test is claimed.

WHY IT MATTERS

Choose deck, edition and exact face/token treatment separately. The October 20 page gives format specifications and face commanders, but its individual full decklists remain unrevealed at this check.

Event date: . This article’s publication date is shown separately above.

Choose the treatment as well as the deck name

Wizards’ October 20 Star Trek Commander page identifies Federation Fleet, Landing Party, Klingon Fury and We Are the Borg in both standard and Collector’s Editions. It says the Collector’s Edition supplies the same ready-to-play deck, with a different foil treatment. For a collector, edition and finish belong beside the deck name before comparing offers.

The standard specification is a 100-card Commander deck: one traditional foil face commander with borderless art and 99 nonfoil cards. The Collector’s specification is a 100-card deck with a surge foil borderless face commander and 99 surge foil cards. A premium finish is not an additional copy of each card or an extra deck.

The token treatment has its own qualification

The standard product lists ten nonfoil double-sided tokens. The Collector’s product lists ten surge foil double-sided tokens, followed by an explicit qualification: those tokens are surge foil on one side and nonfoil on the other. Do not shorten that to both token faces being surge foil.

Record the actual token face and finish if matching tokens are part of the display or deck project. A photographed foil side cannot establish the reverse side’s finish, and a token specification is separate from the 100-card deck. Both editions also list a reference card and deck box; the article does not establish a resale value for any component.

The new page is not yet a complete purchasing checklist

The four named face commanders are Jean-Luc Picard, Luminary for Federation Fleet; Commander Spock for Landing Party; Worf, Defiant Commander for Klingon Fury; and The Borg Queen for We Are the Borg. Use those complete identities rather than treating every Picard or Spock card as the same printing.

At this check, each individual deck section says its contents will be revealed in the future. Despite the page’s decklists title, this report does not claim to have verified four complete 100-card lists or an exact set of every included reprint. Wait for the completed official lists before treating a target beyond the named face card as a confirmed component of a particular deck.

A release date is separate from local arrival

The page announces November 13, 2026 for these physical Commander products. Wizards’ separate regional notice already describes product- and language-specific delays, so that date is not a universal local delivery promise. This report has not verified a retailer’s stock, a checkout or a specific order’s arrival.

Keep the physical editions separate from Arena’s digital packs, cards, cosmetics and event resources. A familiar character can appear across those products without creating the same ownership or fulfillment right. Decide whether the goal is a playable physical deck, a particular foil presentation or the named commander, then check the exact current offer against that goal.
