EDITORIAL POLICY

Our editorial standards

A collector publication earns trust one accurate detail at a time.

Tell the reader something useful

Every story should add context, explain a choice or help identify a collectible. We do not publish an article merely to fill a keyword slot. News requires a meaningful development; evergreen guides should remain useful after the day they are published.

Show where claims come from

Manufacturer checklists, product announcements and platform policies are our starting points. Operator statements remain attributed statements. Social posts and aggregators can provide leads, but they do not establish a price, policy, allegation or inventory fact on their own.

We distinguish source dates, event dates and our publication date. Numeric prices require a dated source, currency and exact card variant. We do not publish invented price charts or label editorial selections as measured trends.

Collecting is bigger than a headline price

We cover artwork, players, characters, sets, condition and collecting themes alongside platforms and releases. A good collection can be one character, a favorite illustrator, a team through the years or a few cards chosen simply because you enjoy them.

Authorship and AI assistance

Launch articles use RippingPatrol Editorial and a set of named house bylines for our coverage beats. These names are editorial pen names, not biographies of individual employees. AI tools assist research and drafting. The bylines do not imply interviews, test purchases or personal collecting experience. Actual contributors will be credited separately when appointed.

Commercial relationships

Editorial conclusions must follow the evidence. Any paid placement will be labeled. Active affiliate and referral links are disclosed near the relevant recommendations; partner availability affects comparison placement. Commission rates are not a substitute for a collector’s fit.

Corrections belong in the record

We welcome specific corrections and primary-source evidence through our contact form. Material factual corrections receive a dated note. Minor spelling or formatting repairs do not create a new publication date.
