PRIVACY

Privacy at RippingPatrol

What this site collects and what those features do.

Browsing and service operation

You can read the editorial pages without creating a RippingPatrol account. The hosting service processes technical requests needed to deliver and protect the site. RippingPatrol uses Google Analytics to understand page visits and how readers use the site. We also use the Google Ads tag to measure brand clickouts across the site. A clickout records an outbound-link interaction, not a purchase or a completed referral. The Google tag can collect technical device and browser information, approximate location, page addresses and interactions, and can use analytics and advertising cookies. Google processes this information under its own privacy policies. Please do not put personal or sensitive information in site searches or page addresses.

Outbound partner links pass referral identifiers to the destination platform. That platform may use its own cookies or account attribution to track qualifying activity under its privacy and referral terms. Card illustrations may be loaded from their catalog providers. Your browser connects to those providers when it requests an image. Their own privacy practices apply to those requests.

Saved cards

If you create a collector account, we store your chosen username, a protected password hash and saved card profiles. A secure session cookie keeps you signed in so your watchlist is available across devices. Your password is not stored in plain text. A watchlist is a research list; it does not place orders or monitor live prices.

Email launch list

The launch-list form stores your email address, consent time and subscription status so the publication can prepare its email edition. No automated newsletter sending service is connected in this build. The form does not subscribe you to a platform’s marketing list.

Messages and corrections

Our contact form stores the subject, message, optional email address and submission time for editorial review. Please do not include passwords, payment details or private account records.

Abuse prevention and your choices

Submission endpoints use a daily hashed network identifier to limit automated abuse. Raw addresses are not stored in the application’s rate-limit records.

You can remove saved cards using the save control. To request removal of a launch-list address or message, use the corrections and contact form with the subject Privacy request. This notice will be updated when our analytics or email delivery services change.
