Riftbound’s 2027 plan separates Legacy packs from Proving Grounds decks—and leaves a Reckoning date conflict

The October 26 roadmap retains Legacy’s January 29 and Proving Grounds 2nd Edition’s February 19 plans. Its June Reckoning dates differ from the linked August lineup’s April dates; keep that unresolved alongside the product specifications.

Official current roadmap and linked lineup checked October 26, 2026. Their Reckoning product schedules conflict; no cause, resolved date, current stock, actual preorder or gameplay eligibility inferred. No physical product, opening or transaction was tested.

WHY IT MATTERS

Legacy boosters and Proving Grounds PG2 decks solve different collecting tasks. Preserve the new Legend/Battlefield slot’s limits, and keep the roadmap’s June Reckoning dates alongside the linked lineup’s April dates until Riot clarifies them.

Keep the product calendar separate from the event labels

Riot’s Riftbound roadmap, marked updated October 26, 2026, gives collectors a planning sequence for Legacy and Proving Grounds, 2nd Edition. But it also leaves a material mismatch: the updated roadmap schedules The Reckoning’s Pre-Rift for June 23–29 and launch for June 30, 2027, while its linked August 3 product-lineup article still lists April 23–29 and April 30. This report preserves that difference rather than selecting a confirmed release date.

The roadmap also labels several May and June competitive events with The Reckoning. Those event labels do not resolve the conflicting product dates or establish which cards will be available or legal there. Before relying on a preorder’s dispatch plan, ask which exact official product notice supports it. The roadmap describes its plans as a snapshot that will continue to change; no retailer stock, booking or checkout was tested.

Legacy changes a pack slot, not every showcase outcome

The roadmap and linked lineup both schedule Legacy’s Pre-Rift for January 22–28 and launch for January 29, 2027. The lineup identifies its set code as LGC and describes booster packs and displays, four Champion Decks, a Vault Bundle and Pre-Rift kits. A product name or set code still needs its configuration alongside it: a Champion Deck is a different acquisition route from a random booster.

The earlier lineup says Legacy replaces one Common slot with a dedicated Legend-or-Battlefield slot at roughly a 50/50 frequency, leaving six Common cards rather than seven. It separately says Showcase Legends and Battlefields remain in Overnumber slots and do not appear in that new slot. The roughly even split concerns those two slot categories; it is not a 50% chance of pulling a specific Legend, a Showcase version or a named card on a checklist.

Proving Grounds 2nd Edition is a separate four-deck product

Both sources schedule Proving Grounds, 2nd Edition for February 19, 2027. The lineup gives the code PG2 and names four decks built around Heimerdinger, Karma, Vladimir and Illaoi. Its itemized contents are four Champion decks, four Oversized Battlefields, four Paper Playmats, four Chibi Score Trackers and one Rulebook. This is a boxed deck-and-play-material specification, not a Legacy booster display.

The lineup lists EN, CN, FR and KR languages and says the second edition contains no cards that cannot be obtained from booster packs. That is an announced card-availability statement, not a complete decklist or a guarantee that an individual booster supplies the desired copy. The oversized Battlefields and other listed objects should stay in their own inventory fields; the wording does not establish their exact physical finish or make every accessory a standard-size booster card.

Save the dated specification and leave unresolved fields open

For a practical collection record, keep three lines: Legacy LGC with the intended treatment and pack or deck route; Proving Grounds PG2 with the chosen language and deck contents; and The Reckoning with both conflicting source schedules, still unresolved. A collector wanting a particular card should add its official identifier when available, rather than treating a product’s deck count or a pool’s category frequency as a complete exact-card checklist.

The October 26 roadmap update is the reason to revisit the plan, while the detailed pack and PG2 specifications above come from the earlier August lineup. We are not presenting every specification as a new announcement, inferring a delay explanation, or claiming that scheduled products are already available. Recheck the two official notices before committing to a date-dependent purchase.
