WHY IT MATTERS
Beckett has announced a restoration sequence, not a reopening date. Check current submission availability and complete any missing certificate verification before relying on it.
Event date: . This article’s publication date is shown separately above.
A restoration order, without a return date
Beckett’s October 2 technical update places customer accounts, the online submission center, certificate lookup and population reports in the first phase of its planned restoration. Online price guides and marketplace tools follow in a second phase, with authentication services and mobile-app updates in a third. Beckett describes work over the coming weeks, without committing to a reopening date.
The company says it detected suspicious technical activity during planned IT updates and took its platforms offline. It says the investigation has found no evidence that sensitive customer information was affected, and that certification, grade and historical population records remain intact. These are Beckett’s statements; they do not establish that the public lookup tools have returned.
What collectors can still do
The service notice checked October 3 says Express card submissions remain available through a temporary form, while Base and Standard are paused. That form is for submissions to the Texas headquarters, not Beckett EU. Existing orders continue to be processed, according to Beckett, although online order-status access may be unavailable.
For an existing order, keep the submission paperwork and progress emails together. A missing online status is different from an order being stopped. Use the official customer-support route when a particular shipment or deadline needs clarification; this report does not verify an individual customer’s order.
Keep a missing lookup separate from a missing record
For a purchase or trade, retain the complete slab label, certification number and clear photographs of both sides. If the deal depends on a certificate check that cannot currently be completed, resolve that evidence gap before committing. An unavailable lookup does not authenticate a card or disprove its authenticity.
A planned first phase is a sequence of work, not proof of restored access. Recheck the actual certificate service when it returns, and keep the card grade separate from any autograph grade or seller valuation.
