Updated September 28: the advertised September 27 event date has passed. This archived brief records the advertised activities and the limits of the original listing; it is not an attendance, giveaway-allocation or stock report.
WHY IT MATTERS
The advertised September 27 event date has passed. Keep the scheduled activities separate from unverified claims about store stock or giveaway outcomes.
Event date: . This article’s publication date is shown separately above.
What Target advertised for September 27
Target advertised its Pokémon 30th Anniversary Celebration for September 27, with a stated event window of 12–4pm at most stores. Its page listed a draw-your-own Pokémon TCG card activity, themed photo opportunities and giveaways while supplies lasted. A Pokémon Pokopia demo on Nintendo Switch 2 was listed for select stores.
The retailer linked a participating-store list from the event page. The demo’s select-store wording was narrower than the main event’s. This brief preserves what the retailer announced; it does not establish what took place at each branch.
An event listing is not a restock announcement
The official event page did not identify a particular manufactured promo card as a guaranteed giveaway. It also did not promise a trading-card restock, a sealed-product allocation or an item for every visitor. The draw-your-own card activity was not confirmation that attendees would receive a named tournament card.
For future events, separate the advertised activities from an assumption about a specific card or box. Ask the organizer about that exact product and location. A photo of stock elsewhere or a community prediction does not establish what another branch will have.
RippingPatrol originally checked the official page on September 25. This September 28 archive update marks the advertised event date as past; it does not add an unverified account of attendance, giveaways or sales.
