Riftbound’s Paris Riven promo depends on the demo route, not simply attending the show

Riot’s French event notice says learn-to-play participants may receive Riven, Brisée. Its illustration shows an English Riven, Shattered promo; the pictured language does not guarantee the copy handed out.

WHY IT MATTERS

Check the learn-to-play route and current supply with staff. Treat the English promo illustration as an identity reference, then record the language and markings of the actual card received.

Event date: . This article’s publication date is shown separately above.

The notice ties the promo to a particular activity

Riot’s French Paris Games Week notice schedules its booth for October 22–25 at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, stand E0. For collectors interested in the event card, the important detail is the participation route: people who attend a learn-to-play activity in the demonstration area may receive the event promo Riven, Brisée.

The French wording, “pourront recevoir,” is conditional. It does not establish that every visitor receives a card, that the card remains available throughout the show, or that a particular number of copies can be claimed. We have not attended the booth or verified distribution. Before joining an activity specifically for the promo, ask staff about the applicable participation and supply conditions.

Record the displayed printing without promising the handout language

The official illustration beside that participation paragraph shows an English Riven, Shattered card. Its lower identifier reads VEN 041a/166, P, EN, with a visible PROMO emblem. The French title in the surrounding article and the English wording on the pictured card should be kept as separate observations.

That image identifies the illustrated printing, not an independently inspected stack of cards at the booth. The notice does not expressly guarantee the language of every distributed copy, a foil treatment, a production quantity or resale value. When adding a received card to a collection, record the actual language, number and promo marking rather than inferring them from the country of the event.

Do not merge the demo promo with other event rewards

The same notice describes a booth passport that can lead to a wheel spin for a chance at rewards such as stickers, pins and boosters. That is a different activity from the learn-to-play participation route named for Riven. Completing a passport should not be recorded as a guaranteed Riven entitlement merely because both activities happen at the same booth.

The notice also lists sealed merchandise planned for sale, including Secret Garden. A listed retail product and a participation promo are different acquisition records. This report does not confirm on-site prices, stock or completed purchases, and does not treat a bundle purchase as the stated requirement for the Riven activity.

Use the dated event notice for the visit, then verify the card in hand

The currently retrieved general roadmap and the event-specific notice both list Paris Games Week on October 22–25. Those are announced dates; they do not independently establish which activities actually ran or whether a promo is still available at a particular moment. Check the current event and booth information before making a visit around a card target.

For a collector’s own record, keep the source, event date, activity and actual card identity together. If staff cannot confirm availability or the printing differs from the illustration, retain that uncertainty rather than turning the promotional image into a completion guarantee. The useful target is a documented individual copy, not an assumed reward from general attendance.
