WHY IT MATTERS

Keep Fujishima Art Academy #XY-P, Reverse Holo #86 and Gold Star #104 separate. Record the venue’s September 28 sold date and premium-inclusive total for each.

Event date: . This article’s publication date is shown separately above.

The sale identifies a specific Art Academy promo

Fanatics Collect lists a US$8,400,000 result for the 2015 Japanese XY Promo Art Academy Fujishima Pikachu #XY-P, graded PSA 10 GEM MINT. The completed page for Weekly Auction 245 lot 468F1 displays September 28, 2026 as the sold date and explicitly includes the buyer’s premium.

The exact name matters: this is the Fujishima Art Academy Pikachu promo. It should not be entered into a collection record as Pikachu Illustrator, or treated as a price for Pikachu cards generally. Retain the year, Japanese issue, Art Academy attribution, promotional designation and grade with the source link.

Other Pikachu results belong to other cards

The same weekly auction reports US$780,000 for a 2002 Legendary Collection Reverse Holo Pikachu #86, graded PSA 10, and US$480,000 for a 2006 EX Holon Phantoms Holo Pikachu Gold Star #104, also PSA 10. Each completed lot displays September 28 as its sold date and includes buyer’s premium.

These three lots share a character and a numerical condition grade, but their years, sets and treatments differ. A reverse holo, a Gold Star and an Art Academy promo should remain separate entries. Their auction totals are not interchangeable comparisons for an ungraded copy or another Pikachu variant.

Use the reported sold date and price basis

Fanatics describes Weekly Auction 245 as scheduled to close on the evening of September 27, with extended bidding beginning at 7 p.m. Pacific. Its completed lots display a September 28 sold date. The records here retain that displayed date without inventing an exact sale time.

The venue’s completed pages report auction results, not seller proceeds or independent proof of payment settlement. These individual sales establish neither a current valuation for another copy nor a broader Pokémon-market trend.
