A dual-player object with a complete identifier

The 2007–08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman Autographs card pairs Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant under identifier DL-KM, serial numbered 1/1. That complete description matters more than the shortened phrase “Jordan Kobe card.” The subjects, season, product, insert and serial designation together define the collecting object.

A dual-player collection can explore relationships between athletes without claiming that one card summarizes their entire careers. Here the combination of two named players, logos and signatures gives the piece several collecting identities at once. It can be studied through autograph collecting, memorabilia-card design or the history of a particular premium product.

Distinguish the card grade from the signatures

Heritage’s August 2025 lot was graded PSA EX-MT 6. That is the card grade shown in the catalog. It should not be relabeled as a separate autograph grade or rounded upward because the result was large. A high auction price does not rewrite the condition assessment.

Inspect the actual signature areas, memorabilia windows, edges and corners when researching a thick memorabilia card. A clean photograph of the center can conceal wear elsewhere. The appropriate question is what the offered object contains and how its condition is described, rather than whether a famous price permits the inspection to be skipped.

A serial number of one describes an edition

The 1/1 designation identifies the stated printing of this card. It should not become a claim that these players have no other cards, autograph combinations or memorabilia issues. Exact scarcity remains useful only while its scope is preserved.

For a collector, uniqueness changes the available choice without removing the option to decline. There may be no second example of the exact edition in a preferred condition, yet a different object can still better suit the collection. A considered decision begins with the intended role of the piece, not an assumption that every singular item must be pursued.

Preserve the auction result as a dated case

The documented Heritage sale on August 23, 2025 realized USD 12,932,000 with a 22% buyer premium. The August 24 press announcement and the individual lot describe different moments in the reporting chain. Keep both dates in their proper roles when the transaction is discussed.

The result demonstrates what happened for this particular offered card under those auction conditions. It cannot establish a price for every Jordan or Bryant autograph, nor isolate the contribution of each player, signature or material element. The profile is most useful when it leads readers toward those distinctions instead of treating the entire collecting category as an extension of one headline.

Inspect the actual example

  • Match 2007–08 Exquisite, DL-KM and the serial 1/1 designation.
  • Keep the PSA EX-MT 6 card grade separate from any autograph-authentication statement.
  • Inspect full front and reverse, signature areas, memorabilia windows, edges and holder.
