Scores reflect published features and terms, not hands-on testing. Offers use platform valuations, with eligibility and time limits. How we score.

The terms behind the numbers

Courtyard: fees, sellback & shipping
Sellback & withdrawal
Optional cash offer based on the individual card’s platform valuation, with a documented seven-day acceptance window. It is not a refund of the pack price.
Fees
Current listings advertise 0% buyer and seller marketplace fees; Vending Machine buybacks are excluded. Digital-wallet payments have no processing fee. Credit-card processing, shipping and taxes can add to the total.
Physical delivery
Cards can be shipped; shipping and tax are invoiced for the destination.
Availability
Advertises global shipping; a comprehensive platform-access exclusion list was not verified.

Arena Club: fees, sellback & shipping
Sellback & withdrawal
Official support describes an offer based on Arena Club’s estimated value minus a 10% app fee. Each offer displays its own expiry; a universal 24-hour window is not guaranteed.
Fees
The standard offer deducts 10% from Arena Club’s estimated card value. Slab Safe costs 10% of the base pack price and sets an offer floor at 80% of that base price. Retrieval costs are additional.
Physical delivery
Request retrieval from the vault; delivery, insurance and customs depend on destination.
Availability
International retrieval via FedEx/DHL coverage, with sanctions, accessibility and temporary exclusions. Destination policy updated Aug 20 2026; confirm before purchase.

THE COLLECTOR’S VERDICT

Courtyard fits a collector prioritizing packs plus secondary trading. Arena Club merits consideration when grading, slab presentation and its separately priced protection option matter more. Decide using the actual offer and delivered cost, not a headline percentage.

Start with the card you want to keep

If you want to open a graded card, hold it digitally and eventually choose between trading and delivery, both Courtyard and Arena Club belong on the shortlist. The useful distinction is the collection workflow after the reveal. Courtyard combines instant packs with a secondary marketplace and collector submissions. Arena Club combines Slab Packs with grading, trading and digital showrooms.

Choose around the activities you expect to repeat. A marketplace-oriented collector may prioritize browsing and exchanging singles; another may value the connection between a slab, its grading information and a showroom.

Compare offers on the same basis

Arena Club’s documented standard offer deducts a 10% app fee from its own estimated card value. That is a platform estimate, not necessarily the amount a separate buyer would pay. Courtyard provides instant Vending Machine offers, but our research did not establish one universal current percentage.

Compare the actual displayed offer for a specific card. Courtyard’s advertised zero buyer and seller marketplace fees do not mean every transaction is cost-free: the Vending Machine is a separate mechanism, and payment processing, shipping or taxes can still apply.

Treat optional protection as another purchase

Arena Club’s Slab Safe adds 10% of the base pack price and supplies an offer floor of 80% of that base price under its terms. The floor does not recover the full amount paid, including the premium. The standard offer and the protection floor are different calculations.

This matters if protection is central to your choice. Read the offer deadline displayed in the account rather than assuming a universal acceptance window, and assess whether the additional premium fits the budget for the opening experience.

Finish the comparison at your front door

Both document physical retrieval, with destination-dependent costs and conditions. Courtyard advertises free storage and insurance; Arena Club’s retrieval guidance addresses delivery, insurance and customs. Check the specific country before purchasing, particularly when importing a card.

For either service, review the pack’s current contents and odds, the exact card identity and the total retrieval cost. A convenient digital collection should still have a clearly understood route to the physical item. We have reviewed published information, not completed a shipping or payout test.

Compare the outcome, not just the opening

The best comparison starts with what you want to keep. A physical card for your binder, a graded slab in a vault and a digital game item are different products, even when the opening animation feels similar.

Read each platform’s source-linked review before committing. Product-specific terms take priority over a broad comparison, especially where a platform offers several pack formats.
